Systems/Software engineering consultant to SUMA Technologies. Designed and developed a time synchronization server application, a scheduling server application, and a SNMP extension agent for a UMA-based performance monitoring product. The time synchronization application maintained a system-wide clock for all performance monitoring agents within the network. Time synchronization enabled each performance-monitoring agent to coordinate sampling periods---making inter-agent performance data comparisons more meaningful. The scheduling application acted as a common database for the performance monitoring agents, specifying target performance monitoring agents, data items for collection, and data sampling criteria. A GUI interface provided a human interface to the scheduling server. Performance monitoring agents interfaced to both the scheduling server and the time synchronization server through a set of APIs.
Consulting System/Software Engineer to Micro Electronics in Silicon Valley. Designed and developed messaging software which delivers data packets and events for Micron's ClusterData product. The software provides guarantee delivery for all datagrams transmitted. Message reception is asynchronous. Any received messages are automatically forwarded to all registered clients of the messaging software. ClusterData is a middle-ware product ensuring high data availability for Novell NetWare networks. It is designed to minimize the disruption of services caused by a server failure. It allows nearly continuous access to mission critical data volumes. The Cluster Data messaging software was written in C-language and compiled to produce an NLM for NetWare 4.11. Project documents delivered using Microsoft Word and stored online as Lotus Notes document objects.
